Terry O'Neill

AUDREY HEPBURN IN POOL (POSTHUMOUS), 1966
Printed using the chromogenic process — traditional chemical colour photography, not a digital reproduction. This posthumous edition is authenticated with a printed signature and embossed O'Neill estate stamp, each print individually numbered by hand within a strictly limited edition of 50. A certificate of authenticity is included, documenting provenance for the collector's archive.

In 1966, during the production of Two for the Road in the south of France, Terry O'Neill photographed Audrey Hepburn in a series of unguarded moments that captured a side of her rarely seen by the public.

Hepburn had, by 1966, reached the summit of global stardom. She had won the Oscar, the Tony, and the BAFTA. She was one of the most recognised faces on earth. What O'Neill captured in those days near the Côte d'Azur was something different - a woman at rest, briefly unknown to the world around her.
